  • Has anybody here read it? I discovered it earlier this year and loved it. \n\n

  • I kept hearing good things from 4chan's /x/ board a few years ago, but I never got around to reading it. \n\n Should I give it a shot? Wasn't there some particular edition of the book most people recommend? \n\n

  • I had the "full colour" edition, which I'd recommend, but it doesn't really make any difference overall and it's kinda expensive. \n\n

  • I adored this book when I read it - probably around the tine OP started this thread - and thought it was amazing. Experimental narratives and typography? Archetypal characters as a vessel for metaphor? I came to the conclusion that the story was a love story, an expression of the difficulty of understanding a fellow human being. I spent hours pouring over the text, hunting for hidden meanings and trying to find coded messages. \n\n Fast forward to this year when I heard a friend of mine just finished it. “What did you think?”, I asked. They responded with a very cool “It was an amazing parody of esoteric horror. Basically a pastiche of creepypasta in the style of The King in Yellow.”
  • I’m not sure they were wrong, but hearing that they read the entire book, only to appreciate it “ironically” was kinda painful. But it made me consider the book in a new light. \n\n
