  • Any good Psychedelic music? \n\n I always think stoner rock, with bands like Sleep, Maha Sohona, and the Weedians. Any nice stoner metal that you all would recommend? \n\n However other forms of Psychedelic music is allowed too, like folky stuff (I always think The Pilgrim (Of Heavy Psych Sounds Records) or David Cosby), or even vaporwave (such as "nobody here" by Oneohtrix Point Never/sunsetcorp, which is somewhat psychedelic). \n\n

  • Fishmans - Long Season fits this too. Kind of an eclectic mix of genres, but definitely a good one. \n\n Also, Black Sky Giant and King Weed \n\n

  • I had a memorable psychedelic experience at a music festival. My buddy was the sound guy on one of the stages, mixing the levels for the bands then picking the songs between sets. He knew I was tripping and played this for me just as it was starting to kick in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEq1fc9r7KE
  • I remember sitting on the grass, the weird guitar effect coming in, it sounded like it was coming the grass... \n\n

  • Kaleidoscope (the British 60s band)
  • Tangerine Dream and Faintly Blowing are both great albums, if you like that earlier Pink Floyd/Led Zeppelin folk rock vibe. \n\n

  • I'm not sure if it counts exactly, but some electronic songs could count in a way \n\n Think like Olson by Boards of Canada or like scntfc's Oxenfree OST \n\n

  • Kavus Torabi talking about the difference between “psychedelic” and “progressive” music
  • https://thequietus.com/interviews/steve-davis-interview-magma/ \n\n > >I’ve always called it psychedelic music. I like all the associations of the word and I like the fact that it’s very exploratory music and multi-layered. And I think of a lot of the albums that come under the prog banner in these terms. I think of Close To The Edge by Yes as a psychedelic album. I think of Cardiacs as a psychedelic band and Magma as a psychedelic band. I tend to think of bands that I don’t like, such as ELP or Dream Theater as prog, virtuoso but with no tunes.

  • >>9 Sure it counts, it's not limited by the sonic palette :) Music in any genre can be psychedelic \n\n
